Transliteration

Allaahu akbar kabira, Allaahu akbar kabira, Allaahu akbar wa ajall, Allaahu akbar, wa lillaahil hamd. [1]

Translation

Allah is the Greatest, Most Great. Allah is the Greatest, Most Great. Allah is great and Most High. Allah is the Greatest, All praise is due to Allah.

Note

Women say this takbeer too, but quietly. Non mahram should not hear their voice. Umm Atiyah (RA) said: 'We took menstruating women to the Eidgah. They stood at the back. When men said takbeer, the women also said it. When men made dua, the women made dua too. They wanted the blessings of that day.' [2] But saying takbeer all together in one voice is bid'ah. The Prophet's (ﷺ) way is different. When making dhikr of Allah, each person says it alone. No one should go against the way of him and his companions. [3]
