Narrated Abdullah bin Umar (RA): One of the supplications of the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) was as follows -
اَللَّهُمَّ إِنِّي أَعُوْذُ بِكَ مِنْ زَوَالِ نِعْمَتِكَ وَتَحَوُّلِ عَافِيَتِكَ وَفُجَاءَةِ نِقْمَتِكَ وَجَمِيعِ سَخَطِكَ
Transliteration
Allaahumma in-nee a‛oodhu bika min za-waali ni‛matik, wa tahaw-wuli ‛aafi-yatik, wa fujaa-ati niqmatik, wa jamee‛i sakha-tik
Translation
O Allah, I seek refuge with You from deprivation of Your blessing, alteration of Your protection, sudden infliction of Your anger, and all Your wrath.
A shield against sudden harm. It keeps your health safe. Blessings stay constant. It stops punishment before it reaches you in daily life.
It means: O Allah, save me from losing blessings, changes in health, sudden punishment, and Your anger. Total safety.
Yes. Sahih Muslim 2739. The Prophet Muhammad used to say this to seek Allah's help and safety.
Anytime. Especially morning and evening. Ask Allah for safety from sudden harm throughout the day.
Yes. It asks refuge from 'alteration of protection.' Scholars say this includes changing from good health to sickness.
